Greetings, Scientific Slug blog readers! This fall quarter we are kicking off the blog with a poem by the one and only Brutus. Enjoy.

Shakespeare! Weierstrass! Thank you for your leaps
and bounds, your contributions to my arts!
But I won’t forget you could have any
name, or have never thought at all and I
would still find something to scream of with
arms flung wide, staring in the sweet, sweet death
and the all-embracing oblivion,
while in this blink I dance in all your dreams.

History remembers you for your gifts,
I thank you for the songs sung in my soul,
but like you I could have been a different
human, one that offered a better course than ours.
